Tribe Pure is an independent UK shop for everyday essentials without the nasties. We used to stock hundreds of products. Now we keep the ones our customers buy again and again, so we know every one inside out: what’s in it, how it’s made and who makes it.

What we believe

What you put on your body matters as much as what you put into it. Most of what we use every day, from toothpaste to laundry liquid, is full of things nobody needs. We think the closer a product stays to what nature already provides, the better it is for you, and we don’t think you should need a chemistry degree to read the label.

So we look for short ingredient lists, makers who can tell us exactly what goes in and why, and packaging that doesn’t end up in landfill. No marketing fluff, no miracle claims, just honest products that do their job.

What we look for

• Short ingredient lists. Our toothpastes leave out SLS, triclosan, titanium dioxide and palm oil. Our deodorants are aluminium-free.
• Gentle period care. Organic cotton and bamboo, made without chlorine bleach, perfumes or dyes.
• Eco laundry that works. Plant-based cleaners with no phosphates, phthalates, parabens, optical brighteners or dyes.
• Less plastic. Glass jars, metal tins and card wherever the maker offers them.
